Violin

Dr. Teresa Grynia was born in Cracow, Poland.  She studied at the Mieczyslaw Karlowicz School of Music in Cracow, the Academy of Music in Cracow, University of Georgia
and Southern Methodist Univeristy.

She has studied with many great violinists including Emanuel Borok (TX, USA),
Levon Ambartsumian (GA, USA), Mieczyslaw Szlezer, (Cracow, Poland) Krzysztof Jakowicz (Warsaw, Poland) Michael Stricharz (Hamburg, Germany) Krzysztof Wegrzyn (Vienna, Austria).

Teresa was also a member of CEI Youth Orchestra under maestro Igor Coretti-Curet. She was concertmaster of the Cracow Young Philharmonic, the Symphony Orchestra of the Academy of Music in Cracow, Orchestra of Juliusz Slowacki Theatre
and the University of Georgia Symphony Orchestra.

Teresa has performed in Poland, Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Italy, Slovenia, China, Brazil and U.S.A. She has collaborated with such musicians as Krzysztof Penderecki, Konstatnty Andrzej Kulka, Imre Pallo, Uto Ughi, Ingolf Wunder. 

Voice

Tereska has been singing since she was a child starting in school choir at age 6. As 12 years old she started ensamble called „Crazy Band”. The band was performing popular music in classical-jazz arrangments, in Cracow.

In 2006, maestro Tomasz Chmiel - conductor of Cracow Young Philharmonic invited her to sing with the orchestra during their tour in Netherlands.

She took part in Jazz Summer Academy where she had opportunity to develop her skills with professional jazz musicians such as Lora Szafran,  Atma Anur, Gary Wittner.

Tereska studied jazz improvisation with Dr.David D’Angelo and voice with Prof.Frederick Burchinal at the University of Georgia.

Recently, Tereska was a guest singer on the new album Highs/Lows by Monkier.

She also co-operates with Athens Tango Project and double-bass player - 

Luca Lombardi.
